Day Skipper Theory

This course will give your the seamanship skills to have fun and stay safe on the water and an understanding of basic navigation

This course equips you to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages by day or night. It starts with some revision and then moves on to advanced navigation techniques

This course equips you
with enough knowledge
to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce
you to night cruising

Between 6 and 10 hours including time spent on module knowledge checks

Around 40 to 45 hours
plus time for two final assessment papers

Around 65 hours
plus time for three final assessment papers

RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship Certificate

RYA Day Skipper Theory Certificate and required knowledge for Day Skipper Practical course and International Certificate of Competence

RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Theory Certificate & knowledge required for Coastal Skipper practical course & Yachtmaster Offshore exam
